on Caribe Salsa from Hawaii II Son Caribe, a five piece combo, puts new meaning to the old saying "dynamite comes in small packages!" Led by Eddie Ortiz (trumpeter, vocalist, and arranger), the group plays a wide variety of musical styles. Featured vocalist Cynthia Romero's sultry and silky smooth voice compliments a solid rhythm and horn section. Son Caribe's strength is the fact that along with their lead vocalist, they also feature a trio who could very easily be featured vocalists with any Latin band. Son Caribe and the Latin music scene in Hawaii are a secret no longer. What a nice in-the-pocket salsa release this is. It's strong, old school style Latin music - a worthy addition to your collection.
